Clydebank vs Allan Glens (16th August 2008)

This was to be the opener for the season that would allow everyone a chance to get back into the game.  Not everyone took the opportunity and the club struggled to field regular players at every position.  However, there were a number of good things to come out of the match even though we lost 19-32, for one, we can only get better.

With the leagues fast approaching it is vital that everyone makes training over the coming weeks and works hard to make themselves available for the upcoming matches.

Annual Tens Tournament (9th August 2008)

It was another damp day and Clydebank once again failed to win anything at their own tournament.

The event however was a success with all but one team showing up.  Clydebank managed to field two teams with the B squad proving to be the more successful on the day.

There were a host of entertaining matches and displays by some of the other clubs who operate out of the Whitecrook club house.

The eventual winners on the day were as follows:

Cup Competition    -   Helensburgh

Plate Competition  -   Hyndland

Bowl Competition  -   Shawlands

The Calcutta Cup even made an appearance on the day and a lot of people managed to get a photo with it to help remember the day.

Calcutta Cup at the Tens

It was short notice but a pleasant surprise when the SRU called to say they would be bringing the Calcutta Cup to Whitecrook this weekend for the Tens Tournament.

Bring along the family and enjoy the day with dancing displays, cheerleaders, games for the kids and of course the rugby.  Maybe even get your photo with the Calcutta Cup as a reminder of the day.

The games start at 1pm and the tournament runs through to 5:30pm when the trophies are awarded.

Clydebank will field two teams and selections are provided at the bottom of the page.
 

Club Fun Day 2008 (2nd August 2008)

Although this was a good day it was let down by a lot of players not turning up.  These events are important and all members are encouraged to make an effort to attend.

However, there was still a good turnout and there were a good few competitions to test the skills of everyone in attendance.

Next week is the Club Tens and all members are required to make sure we can field the two teams entered by the club, so please be there.  Players should be at Whitecrook for 12noon although there is an U16 tournament starting at 10:30am that will need people to help.

Club Fun Day

All players should come along this Saturday at 1pm to take part in the club's annual fun day where there are various games taking place with prizes to won.

The event will be proceeded by a players meeting so it is important that you are at Whitecrook for a 1pm start.
 

1st XV League Fixtures for Season 2008-2009

The SRU have issued the new league fixtures for next season.  The league campaign kicks off on 6th September away to old rivals Loch Lomond.
